One thing on the to-do list is photos. It just so happens that Andy Summers of The Police is a friend of the group. And it just so happens that he is a serious photographer. So we end up hanging with Andy for an afternoon at his pad. Pretty cool! (I listened to the Police all through high school!) Andy's shots were excellent and were used on the web site and on our concert programs. Thanks, Mr. Summers!

We then have two more concerts with Luciana, in Atlanta and Wilmington, NC. I love the program. The repertoire includes some fantastic Brazilian music by Pascoal, Bellinati, a brilliant medley of Brazilian tunes arranged for the Quartet by Sergio Assad; a group of duets between Luciana and each member of the group.

We arrive in Madison (great town!) a couple days early so that we can squeeze a little more rehearsal in before the first concert. I am so excited that I can hardly sleep!

The first concert is only one month away! Time to learn a lot of music, once again. But I like it! The guys start giving me piles to add to my already substantial pile.

The first task is to learn the music for their upcoming collaboration with the amazing Brazilian singer Luciana Souza. For the Fall, I will only play on the concerts with Luciana, while Andy still handles all of the Quartet recital concerts.

Audition No. 1 - Challenging, but I feel good about the way the audition went. It was actually enjoyable. I was a little anxious of course, given the life-changing nature of the gig, and how much I wanted it. But it helped that the guys are all about the music, and were also very down to earth and supportive. John, Bill, and Scott are 3 of the funniest people I know, so it also helped that they kept me laughing.
