LAGQ is happy to present a benefit concert for the Hope Institute of Uganda March 10th in Janesville, Wisconsin. This organization helps to provide medical, educational, and other vital services to Ugandans in need.

A new book by Julia Crowe, 'My First Guitar', features tales from a wide array of well-known guitarists including the LAGQ (with Andy York - the interviews were done just before Matt joined the group). LAGQ at Guitarraganza September 27-29

LAGQ will be part of Guitarraganza in the Modesto, California area Sept. 27-29. LAGQ will be performing a recital program Sept. 28 including "Shiki" with guitar orchestra. On Sept. 27, Bill Kanengiser and Scott Tennant will be giving solo performances. All members of the quartet will be giving masterclasses and clinics during the festival. "Shiki" a huge success

In March 2012, the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet played a series of concerts with guitar orchestras, featuring a new work by Kyoto-based composer/guitarist Shingo Fujii.  The piece, entitled “Shiki: Seasons of Japan”, was dedicated to the victims of the 2011 earthquake and tsunami.

LAGQ to premiere and tour a new piece by Shingo Fujii in March

IIn March 2012, the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet will play a series of concerts with guitar orchestras, featuring a new work by Kyoto-based composer/guitarist Shingo Fujii.  The piece is entitled “Shiki: Seasons of Japan” and is a Fantasia on Japanese Folksongs, dedicated to the victims of the 2011 earthquake and tsunami.  To mark the one-year anniversary of this national tragedy, the new work will be performed by the Grammy-winning LAGQ with guitar orchestras of young students in the US, conducted by Mr. Fujii. The piece was commissioned by the Loudon County Public Schools, which encompasses one of the foremost youth guitar educational groups in the US.
